Papa Shillingi
Shark covered in coins
Folklore from Kenya inspired the Swahili name ‘Papa Shillingi’, meaning “shark covered in coins”. The legend states that God and his angels, delighted with their creation of Whale Sharks, scattered coins across its back.
This image captures a Whale Shark swimming just beneath the surface of the clear blue waters of the Ningaloo.
